General Terrain Build Order - Starcraft 2 Strategy

starcraft 2 terrain guide

We must always keep one thing in our mind about the Starcraft 2 strategy playing as Terrain, the complication of its economy compared with the other races. When we steal SCV's to mine gas from our minerals, we face a drop in mineral collection and also when we need SCV's. A mule is introduced to counter Starcraft as it is an important part of the economy of Terrain and they would be taken as quickly as we can.

We can start with nine SCV's supply and build our first supply. Our depot will finish when we are on 11th SCV and we can make another one immediately. Using the SCV to build the barracks, placing it strategically to block our ramp, it must keep at command center. After the barracks finish, we can use these SCV to finish blocking the wall by building the other supply depot. After 14th SCV supply, we can go ahead with refinery. SCV's building can be stopped at 14th supply as we have enough minerals for upgrading the orbital command when the barracks finishes. The faster we get our mule, the better it is for us. Once our refinery finishes, we can snag two more SCV's to mine gas. A couple of Marines can be made to counter a terrain reapers or zergling rush. Then, we want to build another barracks for straight tanking to Banshees or Siege tanks. Then we may have 50 Vespene gas at our first barracks to attach a tech lab. Once our orbital command finish upgrading, we can call a mule and continue making SCV's. At this point, we get a standard terrain setup. When our tech lab completes, we can produce Mauraders, Marines and a Fusion Reactor to other barracks. The sooner we upgrade a Stim Pack and Concussion Shells at the tech lab, the better edge we have on our opponent. This initial build can give us the edge to strike fast or a sufficient defense to siege air units and tanks.

For Mauraders and Marines, it is not necessary to get a second refinery but it must be build as soon as possible. Gas can also be collected as much and as soon as possible. Terrain is the best race for countering opposing units and an early game strategy. They're hard to get as they block the ramp quickly. The Comsat must not be used too often because the Mule is more important for the collection of minerals. It is useful to scout for a Dark Shrine against Protoss to prepare for Dark Templar.

Starcraft 2 Terrain Counter Unit Strategy

starcraft 2 terran strategy If we want to learn how to use the correct units for Terrain counter as a Terrain player, the Starcraft 2 Terrain guide teaches us the basics of countering while playing against Protoss and Zerg. This is a general Starcraft 2 guide which contains an overview of the units for Terrain counter.

While playing against a Zerg player, the Zerg throws various units at us. One of them is the Zerglings attack. The Hellion is the correct Terrain counter unit to be used for this attack because it can cause damage to the groups of units on the ground like the Zergling. Another attack used by the Zerg is the combo of Hydro and Roach. The best unit of Terrain counter for this attack is the combo of Thor and Tank as they destroy the attack of Zerg. The last attack by a Zerg player may be a Mutalisk attack. To face this attack, we can build Marines and Vikings with the help of a Star port.

While we play against a protoss player, we must find a combo of Zealot and Stalker. A good counter of Terrain unit for Protoss is the combo of Tank and Thor. We must make sure that we have some Marines to protect the tanks. The Protoss player can also try Colossus or Immortals. We can use Thors to take out Colossus because the Colossus does not damage the large units. We can use Marines and Hellions to destroy the Immortals. We must keep our Thors and Tanks away from the Immortal as it can take down the large units. In the end, he can use Void rays and the Terrain counter unit to prevent this. By building few Vikings, we can easily take the Void rays out.

After learning these Terrain counter units, we can easily beat even a Zerg player or a Diamond ladder Protoss.

Zerg Vs Protoss - Beating Colossus and Immortals

starcraft 2 strategy guide

If you are not aware about the correct counters for colossus and immortals in Starcraft 2 then playing a zerg and protoss game will be a bit frustrating for you. A perfect Protoss player will utilize either or both the units during the game to counter so it is recommended that you should know each and everything perfectly in prior about how to counter them. So, to help you here is a starcraft 2 guide for you with the help of which you will be able to use counters correctly for the Protoss colossus and immortal.

Let us first discuss about colossus. This is the unit that is very effective for taking out the groups of small units such as hydralisks, roaches and zerglings. These units are the major attack units of Zerg army. So, here you have to play smart because all the important units of Zerg army is not at all effective towards colossus, so you have to think that what unit will be perfect for this situation. So, in such situation you have to use infestor because infestor has the capacity of neural parasite with the help of which you will be able to take control over colossus and turn them against the Protoss player for meantime.  You can also utilize corruptors to destroy the colossus, but you should be cautious enough for stalkers as well.

Now about the immortal, what will be perfect to destroy immortal? Immortals are mainly used to destroy the ultralisks and roaches. So, to destroy immortal there is option available and that is speed upgraded zerglings. Apart from this, there is also one more option available and that is hydralisks with the help of which you will be able to deal with immortal.

Every Protoss player nowadays is using one of these two units to fight against Zerg units. So, you should be cautious enough for it, if you notice anyone of these two units then use the recommended units to destroy them easily. Moreover, sometime the Protoss player cleverly use both the units at a time so for such situations you should use your most effective units such as mutalisks and corruptors.

Starcraft 2 Zerg Guide - Using Roaches Effectively

starcraft 2 strategy guide One of the most powerful units in Starcraft 2 playing Zerg is the roach but if you want to have effective result from it then you should use them correctly. If you don’t use them correctly then it will turn to be a wrong selection against some selected units. However, if you are an experienced Zerg player then you may know that when and how to utilize the roach to stay away from your enemy. So, to help you here is a guide that will help you to know when and how to use the roach when playing against Protoss and Terran.

There are few unique things that you have to know in prior about roach. The first thing that you have to know about roach is that it is not an armored unit like the Zergling and Hydralisk. But they have the capability to make damages in high level. Moreover, their speed of attacking enemy is very slow. This is very important as both the Terran marauders and the Protoss stalkers do additional damage to armored units. So, in such situation roach will be beneficial for a Zerg player because this unit will help to stay away from marauders or stalkers. So, if you want to damage the units of your enemy then you should always try to go with this unit. But one drawback of roach is that they perform very poorly against an immortal.

Moreover, if you don’t notice any of the initial units playing in the game then in such situation mass roach army will be a perfect option to attack your enemy at early stage. In most of cases if you use the roach army in the early stage to attack your enemy then there is a possibility to win the game very early. It is effective and the best part is that to build this unit you don’t have to spend lots of gas so due to this reason you will be able to pump them out very quickly in comparison to Hydralisks. But if you utilize the speed upgrade then they will move pretty quickly and the best part is that if you use speed upgrade then they will hit and runs very quickly. So, if you desire to win the game then you should use these strategies. If you use these starcraft 2 strategies then for sure you will win any game where you don't see a marauder or stalker.
